CIDER Summer Intensive Program 2007
"Building Bridges: Public Health and Private Sectors Responding to Pandemic Influenza"
June 19 - June 21, 2007
The CIDER SIP 2007 is a 3-day conference entitled, "Building Bridges: Public Health and Private Sectors Responding to Pandemic Influenza". Our partners include the California Department of Health Services, ORC Western Occupational Safety and Health Group, and members of the public and private industries.
A widespread public health emergency, such as pandemic influenza, will involve all sectors of society. Small and large businesses, public health departments, and community-based organizations will need to work together to execute a containment strategy, minimize employee morbidity and mortality, and implement continuity of operations. The program will feature keynote speakers on the State of the State regarding Pandemic Influenza, Model Practices, Business Continuity, and Employee Health, interactive tabletop exercises and roundtable discussions.
Participants will gain the latest information about how to prepare their business for a public health emergency such as the pandemic flu outbreak, who are the collaborative partners in response on the local, statewide and national levels, and what are some models of best practices for collaboration and networking, communication, employee health communication, and strategies for stockpiling and equipment. Presentations and discussions from conference will be compiled into a handbook that will be distributed to all participants.
